PTC started the philanthropic educational initiative in 1998 under the “In-kind giving to the society” Program. The initiative was first launched in the UK under the guidance of Warwick manufacturing University by providing it with industrial software and curriculum guidance. Later it was introduced in the USA, a lot of work was done under this initiative in the US for which PTC earned awards from the US government. In 2001 the PTC extended this philanthropic initiative to other parts of the world. Initially, it started in the form of software at a nominal value to technical education institutions. However, it was soon realized that the potential of the software was not being translated into the enhancement of skill due to a lack of cohesive training components and knowledge of the latest manufacturing machines evolving around the software. Therefore, the concept of the PTC Centre of Excellence (CoE) was designed.
Under the PTC CoE program, we create labs with software, hardware, and training from PTC experts who handhold the instructors and help them create future engineers. Students work on industry projects using PTC's latest technology and work towards becoming Industry ready global engineers during college life itself. PTC Centre of Excellence program bridge the gap between Industry and Academics.
